Neurotoxins

Neurotoxins work by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes the persistent lines to form. Neurotoxins are prescription medicines that are injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows, around the eyes, and forehead.

Neurotoxins are administered as a simple, non surgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form.

Dysport and Botox skin care are widely used in the treatment of facial lines resulting from the pull of facial muscles of expression in the upper third portion of the face. The three primary areas associated with hyper-functional movement are Glabellar, or frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead lines and the outer eye areas or Crow’s Feet.
These areas respond well to minuscule amounts of Dysport and/or Botox.
NEWER COSMETIC USES FOR DYSPORT AND BOTOX SKIN CARE INCLUDE:

• Under eye bulge or wrinkles to give eyes more open appearance
• Lines and Platysmal Bands in Neck to give a neck lift
• Vertical smoker’s lines
• Vertical marionette lines and to lift up corners of the mouth
• Dimpling of the chin
• Bunny lines from regular wrinkling of the nose
• Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis

In addition to the cosmetic effect of neurotoxins, it is noted that many patients who have suffered from either migraine or tension headaches had relief of their symptoms after administration of Dysport/Botox to the glabella and forehead areas.
Patients who are pregnant or lactating or are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients in the formula including albumin, patients with neurologic disorders including Myasthenia Gravis, AML, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s Disease, and patients with active infection and/or flu symptoms are NOT candidates for neurotoxins.
